Matcha Tea and its benefits for the body

After Sarah-Lynn bought me some Matcha tea for my birthday I have been drinking a cup every morning since. It doesn’t give you the sudden buzz that coffee does. The release of caffeine to the body is slow. Therefore, giving you more awareness and concentration throughout the day. She also got me a matcha flask which has a whisk inside to blend up your tea.

If you don’t know what Matcha tea is, it’s a powdered tea. It comes in all sorts of flavours and is very good for you. If you don’t like usual tea or coffee then this is something you must try. To make a cup all you have to do is place boiling water in your flask. Let is cool for a minute so it doesn’t burn the tea add half a tea spoon of the powder and shake it 20 times. You can then add milk to make it into a usual tea.

Believed to have cancer fighting effects

This type of tea is believed to have cancer fighting properties. It contains high amounts of epigallocatechin 3 gallate (ECGC) that has shown to have anti-cancer properties. They have done many studies that show it can help prostate cancer, slow growth of breast cancer cells as well as help skin, lung and liver cancer.

Helps prevent heart disease

You need to look after your heart. You can do this by doing your cardio workouts. However, You can also drink tea and eat certain foods. Matcha tea is one of them, green tea has shown to reduce bad LDL cholesterols and triglycerides.

Helps prevents type 2 diabetes

Matcha and green tea are great at lowering blood sugar levels. But because the matcha is made up of ground up tea leaves it has fibre in it which mean it has more of the healthy chemical compounds. If you have problems with your blood sugar or are a diabetic, this could be something to look into.

Encourages weight loss

Green tea is one of those things you see mixed in with some protein powders because it helps speed up your metabolism. Making your body burn off more calories throughout the day. A study shows that drinking green tea can improve fat burning by 17% during exercise.

Matcha tea is brilliant. I can’t recommend it enough. It is a step down from coffee but much better for you. It doesn’t give you that bad feeling when drinking coffee on an empty stomach. It balances the caffeine released into your body which gives you the feeling of being alert throughout the right period of the day. It does wear of which is fine. So when I’m out early in the morning delivering personal training session I can have it in my flask and it can last me all morning. Giving me the boost I need at vital time of the day.
