Why I do what I do as a personal trainer
The start of how I found my why. I started off as a personal trainer in Devon in a small gym at my local college. I used to work the desk and see my clients in the evening. After just over a year of personal training there, I thought it would be a good idea to look up my friend Nathan Kelly who had a personal training business in Ascot. He said I should come up and to give some free PT sessions and shadow some of his personal training sessions. To see what I thought about it.
I loved the idea of moving away and becoming a self employed Personal trainer under his umbrella. I started travelling up to Berkshire for half the week and seeing a couple of client whilst I was there. This gave me some experience so I could take a leap of faith and go all in with the mobile personal training.
Taking the leap of faith to be a self employed personal trainer in Ascot
So at this point I have a couple of regular clients but not enough to fill my whole diary. However, Nathan told me to trust the process and the clients will come. And they did, I went away on holiday and when I was away 3 clients came through for me to start with on my return. I was excited. This made my leap of faith worth while. After many month of traveling up and down the country. Taking my leap of faith paid off. I had started a new journey as a personal trainer. I gained clients all over Berkshire and Surrey to fill my diary.
My experienced gained and my ‘why’.
In the years I was training under NK Fitness I gained a lot of experience in how to train client.
I wanted to find out
what sort of client I wanted to train and why I wanted to train them. Training people from all walks of life. I trained Business men/women, young adults, youth athletes, retired individuals, and career driven people to find out my
why. It took me a while to find out what I actually wanted to do with personal training. I wanted to make sure people where able to live longer by using health and fitness in a holistic way to get them there.
Future Health Training
In 2018 I started my own company ‘Future Health training’. It was hard to start something new. I’d build a great relationship with Nathan and the team. I enjoyed every second and found it really hard to tell Nathan that I wanted to start something for myself. I needed to put myself in a situation that was going to make me grow again. Nathan gave me the best start. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help me to get to this point. And I’m grateful for everything that he has done for me. Without him I wouldn’t of found out what I wanted to do.
At Future Health Training, I want to help people who want to live longer and feel younger way into older life. Giving people a way to increase their health and mobility. If you just walk into a gym by yourself expecting these sorts of results you wont get very far. You need to find a trainer or coach who is going to show you the way and then you can change your lifestyle accordingly.
You have to invest in your new lifestyle so that you can make the difference. It’s not as easy as flicking a switch. The psychological change you have to go through to break barriers and bad habits is going to be tough. We are based in and around Windsor so if you need a mobile personal trainer to guide you along the right path. We are here to help. I have clients who have said they couldn’t have done it without me. They have tried everything in their lifetime and nothing seemed to work until they started training with a personal trainer.
