How to make a fitness session fun

Now we are talking about a fitness session that is purely working your cardiovascular system using training techniques like HIIT, LISS, sprints or continuous cardio. The best way to make this fun is by working in competition with someone else. If you have a friend or family member that you want to train with. I would start to put together a training day with them because they will push you further than by yourself.

Raceday – set up your program to include a day where you do a race against each other. This works really well with Sprints or an AMRAP because it really easy to judge.

Sets with a sprint – If you have one exercise that is timed and a sprint which is over a distance. You can run this with many individuals and it will help their reaction time and sprint time agains and opponent. Great for football and hockey players.

Sets with a LISS race – If your trying to build your engine over a a longer distance this is great. For example, and isometric hold as an exercise and a lap around the athletics track. Do this for a number of sets with a rolling clock for each individual to push others.

As you can see fitness can be fun

All you have to do is have some imagination with your training routine to stimulate the body in a certain way. If you are wanting to train yourself in an anaerobic pattern. Make sure your are using your muscles in short bursts to create that output. The same goes for aerobic.

Add in different exercises that you might see in the gym used in a general set like squats or pull ups. Then set them up in a way that will get your body to work if you find it hard to get motivated to do these in the general sense. This will help you get a similar output but you will have fun with it.

Go out and try it in the park

At the moment you won’t be able to train in the gym. So try some of these ideas in your local park or large open space for your hourly exercise. If you have the ability to bring some resistance with you in the form of a weight or resistance band. It will make your workout more stimulating as you get used to more outdoor type exercise.
