What would you tell your 20 year old self?

If you had a chance to go back to talk to your 20 year old self. What would you say to him/her? Now you’re in your 50’s or 60’s and have a family who are growing up. You have something you wanted to tell your younger self, how what you do in your 20’s and 30’s could impact were you are today. It could be to save more money, to go and travel more or even look after yourself in a healthier way.

All the mistakes you made, would you want to change those. Maybe, you probably wouldn’t want to change all of them because they have made who you are today. However, if you had a bad habit for 20 years of your life you will want to go back to tell yourself to quit it. If you by any chance still have a bad habit now you should quit it straight away. If you know it’s bad for you. Because it 20 years from now it’s either going to be worse and so much harder to stop.

Make a choice today so you don’t have to say in 20 or 30 years time. “I wish I quit in my 20’s”. There are a number of things that you could quit and it will help you in the future. Like smoking or drinking too much at a young age, or not exercising enough or eating too much junk food. These are are all thing you could quit without looking back.

Look after your 20 year old self, it’s not a race to the end

I tell myself this one all the time, I feel like I’m going to slowly even when everyone around me is telling me I’m doing amazing things. It’s hard to take in sometimes, but when i see it from a different perspective and I get time to reflect and slow down. I can see what I’m doing currently is amazing. I help people on a daily basis get healthier through personal training in Windsor.

You may have the same thoughts about yourself with your goals. I’m going to slowly, why can’t it go faster because this is hard work. You should say to yourself to start loving the journey and not looking for the end. The end is the time when you will have to change your goals. What ever they may be. Enjoy your life and the hardships and struggles you have wont be as hard. If you look at them and see them as bad they will always be bad. But if you look at them as your journey to get somewhere. You will enjoy them and see that the hardship goes away.

You don’t have to see the end

If you look for the end all the time you will feel anxious and not fulfilled. Where as, if you enjoy the journey you will feel fulfilment. However, you have to educate yourself with other people knowledge. Instead of having to wish that in your 20’s you did it differently. When you’re a 20 year old educate yourself and get wisdom from older wiser people. Keep this mentality throughout your life, an open mind is the best mind. It will keep you alive and it will keep you happy with what you are going through. So even if your in your 50’s or 60’s look for wisdom form older generations and younger generations because there is always something to be learnt from everyone.

As a Windsor based personal trainer

I’m a young person in my latter 20’s, I’ve been told by many that this part in your life is the hardest and the best. You are learning who you are and you’re setting yourself up in the world. I totally think it’s hard but I know that it’s a journey and in 10 years time I’m going to be smiling at how hard I thought it was. This is because we grow over time and laugh at our younger self for what we did. I look back on the last 5 years and I can see how far I’ve come as a personal trainer and as a person. I want you to feel the same in your fitness journey 5 years from now. What can you achieve?
